Baptismal Practice in an Ecumenical Context

This document supports the rite of Christian baptism celebrated and observed in an ecumenical context.  It is the fruit of a dialogue among the present members of the Massachusetts Commission on Christian Unity (MCCU), a body representative of Christian Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Anglican, Protestant and Reformed traditions with jurisdictions in this State and Commonwealth.

Offers step by step guidelines for positive ways to discuss divisive issues among Christians. Places these helps in the context of Biblical and theological first principles. 

Ecumenical Accountability: What Are Our Responsibilities To and For Each Other? 

Provides concrete guidelines about ways to live out the mandate for Christian unity in five specific areas: ecumenical worship, pastoral concerns such as baptisms, marriages, and funerals involving people from different Christian traditions; issues of ecumenical protocol; and ways to engage in ecumenically responsible evangelism and social witness.

Odyssey Toward Unity 

Explains the purpose and goals of ecumenical organizations, especially focusing on councils of churches. Based on foundational texts and made accessible to the lay reader.

Study Guide for Odyssey Toward Unity 

A companion to "Odyssey Toward Unity," the study guide helps small groups reflect together about the issues raised in "Odyssey." It offers suggested formats for discussion, questions that might be considered, and a bibliography for further study.

Studying the Bible Together: A Resource Packet for Ecumenical Bible Study  

Helps Christians from various traditions come together to study the Bible as a shared foundational text. Offers suggested approaches, accompanying prayers, Biblical texts of ecumenical interest, and a bibliography of helpful resources.
