"Take Back Your Time Day Proclamation"
Whereas, "Take Back Your Time Day," a non-partisan national dialogue about overwork, over-scheduling, and time poverty, and what we can do to solve these problems, is scheduled for between October 24 through December 31, 2006; and,
Whereas, many people have chosen to "Take Four Windows of Time" from October 24 through December 31 as a step toward time-enhancement; and
Whereas, Many Americans are working extremely long hours, taking shorter vacations and suffering from stress and burnout in the workplace; and,
Whereas, Time pressure, overwork and over-scheduling have a negative impact on family life, community and civic participation, health, spiritual life, economic productivity and environmental stewardship; now therefore be it,
Resolved, That I, (MAYOR'S NAME), Mayor of (TOWN'S NAME), do hereby proclaim (fill in date) as "Take Back Your Time Day" in (TOWN'S NAME), and I urge all citizens to:
* Discuss the issues with your family, friends, co-workers, employers, employees, clergy and congregations, etc.
* Participate in local events to share your own views and ideas, and join with others to seek solutions to time poverty.
