The Disability Ministry Network of The Massachusetts and Rhode Island State Councils of Churches presented the Allen Gunn Disability Ministry Recognition for 2006 to Edmund J. Egan, Director of Development at the Trudeau Center, Warwick, RI

Ed was recognized as someone whose work honors the memory of Allen Gunn, and who exemplifies the commitment to furthering the vision of inclusive churches in “The Accessible Church” appeal of The Massachusetts and Rhode Island State Councils of Churches (found at http://www.masscouncilofchurches.org/docs/accessibility.htm).  Ed has been with the Trudeau Center over 18 years and has nurtured many close friendships at the center as well as with the families of the residents.  He is always seeking opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in community events and often joins them in monthly prayer groups and services in area churches.
