DECADE TO OVERCOME VIOLENCE (DOV) STUDY PAGE

Work on the SAC priority to curb violence and promote civil discourse on violence and promote civil discourse on violence has been in the global context of the World Council of Churches observance of the Decade to Overcome Violence 2001-2010. (DOV)

A DOV study entitled “Why Violence? Why not Peace?” is available for use in congregations and study groups.

The study focuses on four major themes of the DOV:
1.  the spirit and logic of violence;
2.  the use, abuse and misuse of power;
3.  issues of justice;
4.  religious identity and plurality.
